Ruth Allen is an experienced journalist and public relations consultant who trained on The Kilmarnock Standard and has worked as a journalist and public relations and press officer in the public and private sectors.

Ruth Allen has a special interest in the arts and media. She has worked as Publicity and Marketing Manager for the Everyman Theatre, Cork, Republic of Ireland, and as publicist for a number of artists. She has a special interest in cinema and has been an international film juror.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and a Life Member of the National Union of Journalists.
